A former office space in a strip mall required building code analysis and modifications to meet the change in use. The Franchisor had some requirements for the overall look of their restaurants but the Franchisee was allowed some materials flexibility. The project was constructed with the owner operating as the General Contractor on the project as he had several existing connections with the trades. Because the original area was two office spaces the layout was given careful consideration to minimizing the demolition of the center demising wall. The existing mall building structure and mechanical system had to be analyzed and coordinated into the design process. Existing systems such as air vents, electrical outlets, and floor drains where documented and carefully integrated into the new design to save time and expense. Lunch Buffet!
